Explosion-proof wording is not a universal fan category. The location classification and the complete motor, controls, wiring and installation scope must be defined first.
Explosion-proof fan selection starts with the hazardous-location document, not a product thumbnail. Record the gas, vapor, mist or dust hazard, zone/division, group, temperature class, ambient conditions and required airflow/pressure.
A fan housing alone does not make an installation compliant. Motor certification, disconnects, VFD compatibility, sensors, cable glands, grounding, purge or pressurization and installation practice may all affect the equipment boundary. If the site cannot provide the classification and process hazard, keep the page at a request-for-engineering stage. Never infer a rating from the phrase explosion-proof or from a generic motor photo.
